Tarves Amenity Group

The amenity group in Tarves is informally linked to the Community Council.  It meets to try and co-ordinate voluntary effort to keep Tarves an attractive and popular village.  Tarves has won rounds and prizes in the Scotland in Bloom competition and Best Kept Village Competition.

The aim of our group is to manage and develop the floral amenities of the village. This work could not be done without the great help we get from the willing (and sometimes not so willing) volunteers. It's amazing what a spot of good weather can do.

We raise funds for our work and accept gratefully, all donations, be they in the form of money, bulbs or flowers.

We liaise with the local authority, national and regional bodies and their representatives and we provide a forum for the coordination of the activities of community groups in the promotion of Tarves amenities.

2012 saw the Village runner up in the Formartine in Bloom competition as the best kept village in the area.  Tarves has previously won this two years running with excellent displays of flowers, wildflowers and well kept amenity areas along with residents gardens looking lovely.  The village has won or been runner up as the best medium sized village section on each occasion it has entered.
