ROYAL BRITISH LEGION:
Apart from the A.G.M. we do not hold meetings on a regular basis. We do, of course, get together for special events like the Earl Haig poppy door to door collection and the Remembrance Day parade and we have an annual Burn's night supper in January. In common with all branches of the RBLS our principal objective is to look after the well-being of all ex-service personnel. There are many aspects to this including pensions, welfare, financial assistance as required and supporting other, affiliated, organisations e.g. 'War Blinded', 'Limbless Assoc.', Erskine Hospital and the Earl Haig Fund. Although we are a small branch we strive to live up to the Legion motto - "Service not Self". |
