Death of Jean Steele

STEELE (Tarves) Peacefully on December 31, 2014, after a short illness, Jeanie Steele (nee Allerdyce), aged 84 years. Graveside service at the Glebe Cemetery, Stonehouse, Lanarkshire, on Friday, January 9, at 12.15 p.m. A memorial service will take place at Tarves Parish Church, on Monday, January 12, at 2.00 p.m., to which all are welcome. Donations, if desired, will be accepted at the church door for Christian Aid.

Deaths – Fraser Gibbon

Fraser GIBBON (Cuminestown/Tarves) Tragically, as the result of a roadside accident, on Wednesday, December 24, 2014, Fraser Donald, was aged 20 years. Loving daddy of Keira and dearly loved only son of Donald and Anne, much loved brother, uncle, grandson and friend to many. Very sadly missed.

A funeral service was held in Fyvie Parish Church, on Wednesday, January 7, 2015, and then Fraser was laid to rest in the churchyard to which family and friends were invited. Donations to causes close to Fraser’s heart were gratefully received at the church door.

Udny Community Trust Company Ltd (UCTC) exists to help the community of Udny to develop.  UCTC requires a part time project administrator to join a very small staff team.  The post will be funded as part of the Big Lottery Fund – Growing Community Assets programme until March 2016.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a flexible approach to their work, have experience of managing day to day administrative systems and keeping financial records.

Consultation launched as Aberdeenshire Council plan large budget cuts

A budget consultation has started in Aberdeenshire for the budget of 2015 to 2016.  Aberdeenshire Council normally carry out a consultation meeting each year but have not done so for their next budget preparation now under way.  Local Councillor Paul Johnston, has asked residents instead to fill in an online survey to help guide Aberdeenshire Councillors to make some difficult decisions in the face of severe budget cu savings of up to £50 million pounds over the next few years.

The survey, online explores what priorities people have on Council services from education to social service, road and support for local business.
