Friday 8 January 8am – A947 blocked at Parkhill Dyce.
The A947 into Aberdeen is blocked at Parkhill from flooding. This effectively means that all traffic from the north has to go via Bridge of Don or A96. Both these routes are heavily congested. both are also suffering from flooding. There is traffic standing for 6 miles on the A90
Police Scotland and traffic Scotland are advising not to journey unless essential.
There are no buses on routes locally.
Inverurie is difficult to access from the east, with only the Rothienorman route (Howford Bridge) road passable. However, there are no Trains. The roads across to Westhill as an alternative are all barely passable in places and heavily congested on the western approaches to the city. People are being asked to avoid these journeys.
