Mrs Davidson on her retirement from Tarves School after 24 years with two pupils from her P2 class

A teacher said goodbye to her P2 class at Tarves School, after 24 years of service.

Carol Davidson is looking forward to having more time to spend on her hobbies including gardening and stained glass.

Working in Strathclyde and Aberdeen before going to Tarves School, Mrs Davidson has always worked in the teaching profession.

Her Primary 2 pupils gave her gifts at a presentation held last Friday. She said: “I have really enjoyed my time here, it’s not been emotional until now! “I am going to do supply teaching here so I will be back. It will be good to see the children progress.”

This family event is again being run to raise funds for charity. This year’s nominated charity is “Scottish Autism”, to whom at least 50% of the proceeds will be donated. However participants will have the opportunity to donate half of any personal sponsorship to a charity of their own choosing and thus share in the proceeds of their own fund raising.

We hope all participants will ask friends, family and colleagues to sponsor them towards raising the maximum amount for both our and their own chosen charities.

The event includes both long (26 mile) and short (8 mile) runs arranged to suit all age, capability and fitness levels.

Basic facilities will be provided at key points during the run, and refreshments will be provided as part of the registration fee after the event at our facilities at Udny Green.

A certificate of participation will be issued to all children who have pre-registered.
