VISIT TO HADDO HYDRO SCHEME AND BIOMASS ENERGY PROJECT

Aberdeenshire Environmental Forum FREE visit to small scale Hydro scheme and Biomass Project on Haddo Estate, Methlick

On Wednesday 18 July 2012, Aberdeenshire Environmental Forum are organising a visit to the small scale Hydro Scheme and Biomass Boiler project in operation at Haddo Estate. The visit is open to anyone interested in seeing and learning more about these renewable energy schemes, staff from Haddo Estate have kindly agree to lead, and provide information during, the visit.

The Hydro Scheme produces up to 16 kilowatts of power and utilising an Archimedean Screw generator. The biomass project utilises wood chips from timber grown on Haddo Estate and provides heating and hot water for 22 affordable houses and, very shortly, the local primary school.

Salary £26K (pro rata, initially c22 hours per week)

The Udny Community Trust Company was formed in October 2009. Its aim is to disburse funds into the local community and to manage community projects.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to develop and manage projects and to provide support to the Board and wider community. As this is a newly created post, the successful candidate will be a self-starter with the confidence and ability to quickly develop productive relationships with the local community, third sector and commercial partners.

The post is offered initially on a fixed term basis until March 2016 with flexible hours to suit the needs of the Trust. Some evening work and weekend work will be required and you will need access to your own transport.
