We are pleased to invite you to the opening of our new exhibition on Sunday 3 September from 2 pm to 5 pm. Please feel free to bring friends and family and enjoy a wonderful exhibition by two superb artists.

Both will be in attendance.

GARRY HARPER is a graduate of Glasgow School of Art. Fascination with the moving image led him to work as a designer for television for 20 years before taking the leap to paint full-time, with much success. 

His paintings show his love of the human figure and also of the Scottish landscape. He aims to evoke memories and capture glimpses of the past that he hopes spark the viewer’s imagination, giving the first steps of a story.

KATHRYN O’KELL carves and paints relief panels in lime wood. Birds are her passion and they are always exquisitely observed. Earlier this year she visited Iceland for the first time and was blown away by the experience. This exhibition is the result.

Arriving in Iceland on a winter’s afternoon gave tantalising glimpses of the landscape. It was already dark at 4 o’clock and snowing heavily. The elemental nature of the land makes a deep impression. We really did experience fire and ice, northern lights, however brief a view, and it had a strangely familiar feeling. 

In many ways, Iceland is what we know but more so.

Images and full details of the exhibition will be added to the website shortly before the exhibition opens. The paintings have not yet arrived but we know it will be a very special show.

“FOOTBALL CAGE” YOUTH EVENT – THIS SATURDAY 19 AUGUST

The summer isn’t over yet! This Saturday we have the fantastic YFC team coming with their football cage on Saturday afternoon. We’re meeting in Pitmedden park from 3-5pm and cheap as chips refreshments are available throughout the afternoon. It’s open to P6-S6 only and the Pitmedden Youth Cafe are hosting this so looking forward to catching up with you all on Saturday. Share and let us know if you are coming! — in Pitmedden.

INDOOR BOWLING – TUESDAY 19th SEPT – COME & TRY SESSION

Barthol Chapel Bowlers will be restarting the new session of indoor bowling on Tuesday 19th September at the school  at  7.30.

 

We would invite anyone who wants to come along to a ‘Come and Try’ session to join us that evening.

Indoor Bowling is a pleasant relaxing but competitive sport open to all ages. ( Under 16’s should be accompanied by a responsible adult)

We are a friendly bunch who meet every term Tuesday at the school during  September to April for a game and a fly cup at the close around about 9.30. It’s a great way to pass a winters evening!!
