Tarves is a smallish village of about 800 people in the village itself and some 1300 in the parish. Below is a location map.
Tarves is not on a main A class road. The main link is along the B999 starting from the edge of Aberdeen City on the A90 road to the north across the Bridge of Don. Tarves can also be reached by C class minor roads from Ellon, Oldmeldrum and from the north by joining the B999 for the short distance from where it meets the Oldmeldrum to Methlick and Fraserburgh Road (B9170)
